All proceeds from the silent and live auctions, plus $5,000 through Scotiabank’s Team Scotia Community Program, were donated to D.I.F.D. (Do It For Daron) at The Royal.

“On behalf of D.I.F.D. and The Royal, I would like to say thank you to the organizers and everyone who attended this year’s Ladies Night”, said Andrée Steel, President and CEO, Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health.

Together we helped support D.I.F.D. youth mental health and suicide prevention initiatives. These include youth-focused research at The Royal as well as outreach programs that help break down the stigma surrounding mental illness.

What: The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre is offering half-day educational sessions just for teens. You will hear a young person share their experience with a mental illness as well as from the medical and research experts. Each topic will explore and answer – What it’s all about? How do I deal with it? What does the research tell us?

A symphonic gong makes all the the sound vibrations in the universe. When the gong is played live in a yoga or meditation class, those vibrations actually give you the sensation of a deep and lasting massage: you lay down and the vibrations of the gong wash over your whole body, releasing a lot of stress and tension. It also makes your nerves stronger, it clears and recharges your body, your mind and your spirit. It gives your mind a break and helps you release negativity.

When: May 8th (7:00pm – 7:45pm)  & May 9th (4:00pm- 4:15pm)

Where: The Royal’s Butterfly Garden (Meet in the lobby at 4:00pm)
